Will there be an August update? Or will we just get the annual July update?

@myro definitely. WEB 1.9.2 betas are already available if you want one (PM me)

@fruboy there is no long august post planned. to sum august up, shiva 1.92 beta 5 / authoring tool 1.4 beta 11 have been released for testing, and there have been at least 2 new versions of that beta since its initial uploads, so we are trying to get that out of the door as soon as possible. 3 big case studies/blog posts have been published on the blog, as promised. we are still trying to get the store situation fixed. shiva 2.0 is coming along nicely. end of the year roadmap: 1.9.2 release, store opening, 2.0 beta release, new website release, and 2.0 release, in that order.

After falling in love with Shiva some years ago, I tried another game engine (2d oriented) this year mainly for two reasons:

-wanted to tryout 2d instead of 3d
-unclear future of Shiva

After trying out other engines I now know/realise what a great application Shiva is (best in the market) and have decided to go back using Shiva again. So really great to hear there is a future for Shiva :D :D :D

I have also tried an other engine (a bit more expensive one), and must say, was not disappointed.
I am planning a multiplayer game for 2014 and starting to wonder if shiva is a good fit for it

Unless ShiVa 2.0 integrates Photon or similar, I'd say no.

I've tested the water over in Unity land and it's rather nice, Photon makes multiplayer very easy to implement.

Doesn't Photon require Pro? I been making some games with Unity as well and I have to admit it's really grown on me. I want to see what Shiva 2.0 has to offer. I hope Shiva can muster up the tutorials, community and plugins available that Unity has, that would be awesome.
