New Tutorial Series: The Material Workshop

Dear Developers,

we decided to make a new tutorial series about material design. the first part of the material workshop is available now:

On a note, it says "the overdraw is not a mistake, it helps with mipmapping". What exactly do you mean by overdraw?

the uv area is actually much smaller than the gradients in the AO map would suggest.

the value in xnormal controlling this overdraw is called "edge padding", and draws 16px over the "natural" uv border by default. this is useful for mipmapping artefacts that can appear in any real-time engine: read more on the topic here http://wiki.polycount.com/EdgePadding
