Steam Integration

Steam Integration

Postby error454 » 2014-10-22 20:23

Awhile ago, Shaderman helped me start a plugin for Steam. In the last few months, I've fleshed out the plugin to support most of the Steamworks features.

Today, in the spirit of open source and the proliferation of awesomeness, I'm releasing it to the world under an MIT license. I don't have plans to put it on the shiva store, but as the license is permissive, someone else can feel free to do so.

This is the same plugin that I use for Rage Runner. If you find actual bugs with the plugin you can report them on github. If you need general help, you can post here or get me on skype.

Excellent! Thank you! Is this plugin compatible with 2.0b (export)? Does this also work on OS X?

It's 'just a plugin', so It should work with 2.0 export, didn't test it though. Windows and Mac 32bit and also Linux 32+64bit should be available.

Which version of this plugin is recommended -- 1.35 or 1.38a -- for a game created in 1.9.2 and exported for Windows classic 64-bit in 2.0b8?

everything exported with 2.0 using the 2.0 engines should use the 2.0 version of the plugin, 1.38a http://www.shiva3dstore.com/steamworks2 but this will require you to do the integration in 2.0, not 1.9.2, as it uses the new plugin structure.
