[jpPlugins] Plugins by JPierron

Postby jpierron » 2013-11-09 21:58

Hi,

One year ago (maybe 2), I wrote about 25 plugins that are available on the ShiVa Asset Store, like Chartboost, Burstly, Flurry and many others.
As the store was closed for several months, most of them need to be updated with the latest versions of their SDKs.

The first 2 updates are jpChartboost and jpEventQueue.

jpChartboost is now compiled with Chartboost SDK 3.3.1 and implements all the functionalities it provides.

jpEventQueue is a tool for other plugins, to help them sending events to the game, without having to worry about the context/thread where it is sent (an event sent out of the main thread may cause the application to crash).

My plugins are now prefixed by "jp" (understand Julien Pierron, me) to make them recognizable. Product prefixed with "jp" (in lower case) are plugins while thoses prefixed with "JP" (upper case) are my LUA packs (see dedicated thead here)

All of the others plugins will be progressively updated. I'll let you know of the update on this topic as well as on twitter: @jpierron_news

jpVirtualKeyboard is available.

It is designed for android. The native Android keyboard will automatically appear when a HUD EditText has the focus.

It supports both portrait and landscape orientations.
The user can switch between his favourite languages.

jpBattery for iOS updated.

Thanks to this plugin, you can know the level of the battery and its state (charging, unplugged, etc) and get notified when the level or the state of the battery change (when the user plugs the cable for instance).

As you know, I'm currently updating all of my old plugins to keep them up to date and check if everything goes well. As I like well done things, I rewrite them all from scratch.

I'm glad to announce that starting from now, and as much as possible, all of my iOS plugins will be universal. That means they can be used in both iOS simulator and device.
Furthermore, all of them now are compatible with the arm64 architecture (64 bits).

That's why jpChartboost, jpEventQueue and jpBattery have just been updated once again, they are now universal and 64 bits ready.

That's also the case for 4 new updates:
- jpActionSheet: Present the user with a set of choices
- jpAlert: Control the flash light state
- jpFlashLight: Message box popup with buttons
- jpMailComposer: In-app email composer

This was a quick description of each plugin, the full description and API is available on their respective page.

jpActionSheet is now compatible with iPad.

The Facebook plugin for iOS has been updated with the latest Facebook SDK (v3.9).
This version allows you to do much more things than the previous one.

Here's what you can do with this new version:
- publish on the user's stream
- send invites to the user's friends
- upload a photo to the user albums
- ask the user to pick friends
- ask the user to pick a place
- request an information on the Facebook graph
