- NEW: Mesh viewer
- NEW: Sound/Music waveform rendering and preview playback
- NEW: Particle module
- NEW: Trails module
- NEW: SoundBank module

The update will be delivered to registered beta users and 2.0 licensees through our 1.9. beta portal on http://beta.shivaengine.com where you will find all download links and a detailed changelog. Please uninstall the old beta before getting the new version to avoid incompatibilities.

As with the last beta, we encourage our users to download the update and report every bug they can find to our new bug tracker page, http://www.shiva-engine.com/bugtracker.

Nice, starting download. I saw that the description to the download link still is beta 5 (
ShiVa 2.0.0 for Linux beta 5, ShiVa 2.0.0 for Windows beta 5).
Platform: interactive visual art
Tools: polyglot-dialogue editor
Scripts: rmi xml network example, dialogue example

Awesome stuff, I've been lurking for ages waiting for v2 to get closer and it appears as though things are starting to pickup. Great work!

Love the new icons, was worried because B5 had some rough icons, now all icons look pro with unified theme.
Played with some particle emmiters, seem very performant.
Cant wait for the new material editor.

Well done guys! It is looking in great shape.

But I have an issue, sorry if I missed this information elsewhere.
Opening a project made with version 1.9.2 is making my beta 6 crash. Is it possible at all or perhaps we have to use the stk packs to import older projects?

Definitely. Old 192 projects should load into 20 without problems and play/feel/look exactly the same, in most cases even faster/smoother after an initial slow period where the engine regenerates all required textures and shaders for your game.

duarteroso wrote:perhaps we have to use the stk packs to import older projects?

No. This is even potentially going to cause problems, as these old STKs bundle shaders that no longer work with the new post-beta3 rendering pipeline. Importing the project folder directly is the way to go.

In case you had an older 2.0 version installed already, please delete the ShiVa folder in AppData, /home or Application Support (depending on your OS, as described on the beta portal page). Otherwise old settings might cause problems.

Delete the BUILD folder from your project as well, and clear the shader cache (from the 192 game module menu) before importing the project into 2.0.

Let us know how things go!

Alright, trouble maker terminated!
One of the sound in Resources/Sounds was invalid or corrupted, it's size was 0. Should I open a bug report?
